Biography

Bamses Venner, a Danish musical group formed in 1973, was composed of Flemming Bamse Jørgensen on lead vocals and bass, Mogens Balle on piano/organ, Bjarne Green on guitar, and Arne Østergaard on drums. The band's breakthrough came with their participation in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest, where they represented Denmark with "Tænker altid på dig", finishing fourteenth out of nineteen countries. Throughout their career, Bamses Venner released numerous albums, including Bamses Venner (1975), Mælk og vin (1976), and Lyseblå dage (1991). Notable songs include "Er du langsom i nat" and "I en lille båd der gynger". The band underwent several lineup changes over the years, with Jørgensen remaining a constant presence until his death on January 1, 2011. Following Jørgensen's passing, Bamses Venner disbanded after a series of memorial concerts.
