Biography

Balzac, a Japanese punk rock band formed in 1992 in Kyoto, was founded by vocalist and songwriter Hirosuke Nishiyama. Prior to Balzac, Nishiyama fronted Astrozombies, influenced by Gastunk and the Misfits. Balzac's early releases included demo cassettes Scapegoat666 and Descent of the Diabolos, followed by singles like "The Lord of the Light and of the Darkness" on Evilegend13 Records. Their first full-length album, The Last Men on Earth, was released in 1995 under Alchemy Records. In 1997, Balzac signed with Diwphalanx Records and released their second album, Deep - Teenagers from Outer Space. The band gained significant recognition opening for the Misfits during their first Japanese tour in 1998. Notable releases include "Into the Light From the 13 Dark Night" (1999) and collaborations with bands like Sobut. Balzac is also known for its extensive discography, side-projects, aincluding ATOM AGE VAMPIRE IN 308 (1995), as well as side-projects and clothing brands.
