He began his musical journey at 14, winning a trova competition at CTG Sinos de São Miguel. In 1996, he recorded his first cassette, leading to his debut album "Destrinchando o Bagualismo" in 1997. His storytelling prowess shines in songs like "História do Tico Loco" and the widely acclaimed "Do Fundo da Grota," which saw a resurgence in popularity during the 2020 pandemic. Over the years, Baitaca has released several albums, including "Vida de Campeiro" (2003), "Estampa de Galpão" (2010), and "Galponeiro e Aporreado" (2020). His contributions to Brazilian traditional music have earned him honors such as the Troféu Candeeiro Farrapo in 2014 and the Medalha do Mérito Farroupilha in 2022.
