Born on December 13, 1978, in Abre Campo, Minas Gerais, Eduardo Costa (real name Edson Vander da Costa Batista) is one of Brazilâs most prominent sertanejo singers, whose career began in the 1990s playing in bars before launching his solo path in 2000. After modest beginnings with independent albums, he gained national attention with the success of "Coração Aberto" and a string of acoustic releases. From 2005 onwards, Eduardo Costa released hit albums annually, including No Boteco (2005), Pele, Alma e Coração (2005), and Cada Dia Te Quero Mais (2008), blending romantic ballads and classic modões that defined his sound. His live recordings, like Eduardo Costa ao Vivo (2007) and De Pele, Alma e Coração (2011), helped cement his popularity. Known for his powerful voice and theatrical instrumental performances, he expanded his reach through notable collaborationsâmost famously the Cabaré (2014) project with Leonardo, a major hit that led to tours and follow-up albums like Cabaré Night Club (2016).
