Bag Raiders, an Australian electronic music group, was formed in 2006 by Jack Glass and Marek Stracey. Both musicians had a classical background, with Glass playing piano and cello, and Stracey on violin, guitar, and clarinet. They began their musical journey by mixing hip-hop with rock from the 1970s, drawing inspiration from artists like Earth, Wind & Fire and Orbital. The duo's breakthrough came with their debut EP The Bag Raiders in August 2007, followed by their first single "Bag Raiders Remixed" in January 2008. Their rise continued with the release of "Shooting Stars" in August 2009, which reached Number 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was later recognized as a cultural milestone when it gained renewed popularity in 2017 due to internet phenomena. In October 2010, Bag Raiders released their debut studio album Bag Raiders, which peaked at number 7 on the Australian Albums Chart and received a nomination for the J Awards. The album included notable singles like "Way Back Home" and "Sunlight", with the former reaching number 46 on Triple J's Hottest 100 in 2010. Throughout their career, Bag Raiders have also produced remixes for various artists, including Cut Copy and The Ting Tings. Their second studio album Horizons was released in 2019.
