Biography

Evan Pang, known as Aysanabee, was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is a Canadian Oji‑Cree singer‑songwriter and guitarist. He worked in mining and studied journalism before turning to music during the COVID‑19 pandemic, releasing the single "Nomads" in 2021, which reached Number 1 on the CBC Music Top 20 and the Alternative Rock chart in March 2023, becoming the first Indigenous Canadian artist to top that chart. In 2022 he signed with Ishkōdé Records and released his debut album Watin, earning a Juno nomination for Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year and a 2023 Polaris Music Prize shortlist. He followed with the EP Here and Now in 2023 and the album Edge of the Earth in 2025, continuing to chart on Canadian rock radio. Aysanabee released Timelines in March of 2026.
