Axel Schlosser (born September 18, 1976) is a German modern jazz trumpeter, composer, and arranger from Aalen. He studied jazz at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim from 1997 to 2001. During his studies, Schlosser served as lead trumpeter for the Deutsch-Französisches Jazz Ensemble and was a member of the Bujazzo under Peter Herbolzheimer. In 2002, Schlosser joined the hr-Bigband. He was a founding member of the quintet L 14, 16, whose first two albums received the Vierteljahrespreis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. His solo discography includes Touching the Moon (2005), Secrecy (2009), Into the Mackerel Sky (2015), and the quartet album To Satch and Duke (2020). Schlosser collaborated with ensembles including the Sunday Night Orchestra, the SWR-Bigband, and the Bobby Burgess Bigband Explosion. He also taught at music academies in Frankfurt and Mainz.
