Biography

The Axel Rudi Pell band is the brainchild of the German guitarist of the same name. An old-fashioned guitar hero, Axel Rudi Pell makes no secret of his admiration for Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie Malmsteen. His melodic heavy metal never neglects epic ballads, once again in the great tradition of the genre. After four albums with Steeler, Axel Rudi Pell released Wild Obsession in 1989. Nasty Reputation in 1991 featured Rob Rock on vocals. Best known in Northern and Eastern Europe, Axel Rudi Pell remained a second-rate figure on the international scene, despite having released some fifteen albums. However, after twenty-five years in the business, he saw his efforts rewarded, and watched in disbelief as his live album Magic Moments climbed to the top of the German charts. Reinvigorated by this success, he returned to the studio in 2015 to compose Game of Sins, his sixteenth album, released in February the following year.
