Biography

Avalanche is a Norwegian synthpop band who had their moment of glory in France in 1989 with "Johnny, Johnny Come Home". The duo, Kjetil Røsnes and Kirsti Johansen, made their Norwegian debut in 1984 with "Heaven Tonight". Released in 1988, "Johnny, Johnny Come Home" entered the Top 50 in April 1989 and spent eight weeks at the top of the charts, selling over seven hundred thousand singles. It was also a hit in Germany and Norway. The albums Avalanche (1989) and Westbound (1992) did not work out, confirming Avalanche's profile as a one-hit wonder. The couple returned in 2008 to try their luck on the Norwegian TV talent show Melodi Grand Prix.
