Biography

Auliʻi Cravalho (November 22, 2000) is an American actress and singer from Hawaii. Born in Kohala, she started singing from a very early age and participated in her high school’s glee club. Although she wasn’t planning on auditioning for the lead role of the animated Disney film Moana, a talent agent convinced her to do so and she was finally selected out of hundreds of actresses. The film premiered in November 2016 and quickly turned Auliʻi Cravalho into a star pretty much overnight. Two years later, she made history by reprising her role as Moana in the first Hawaiian-language dubbed Disney movie. In addition to lending her voice to the main character, she also contributed to the film’s original soundtrack with the track “How Far I’ll Go,” included in the 2021 compilation Disney Summer Songs.
