Biography

Born Annett Päge on 2 April 1977 in Havelberg, Saxony-Anhalt, East Germany, the German Chanson and pop singer known as Annett Louisan released her first album Bohème in 2004 after being discovered by producer Frank Ramond and went to number three in Germany, with the album later certified five times gold. For her second LP, Unausgesprochen (2006), she pivoted towards the French-German chanson-tradition while adding accents of bossa nova, tango and bal-musette, and also went to number three in Germany and was certified five times platinum. The album was boosted by the success of the single "Das Feeling," which charted at number 34 and "Das Spiel," which charted at number five. She continued to claim sovereignty over the charts throughout the 2000s and 2010s, from Das Optimale Leben (number two in 2007) and Teilzeithippie (number two in 2008) to In Meine Mitte (number two in 2011) and Zu Viel Information (number three in 2014). She dropped a few places to number 11 with 2016 album Berlin, Kapstadt, Prag before restoring her rightful place in the top ten with 2019 album Kleine große Liebe (number six), 2020's Kitsch (number seven in 2020) and Baby Blue (number eight) in 2023. The latter album was propelled by the single “Die Mittleren Jahre.”
