Biography

Anna-Lena LÃ¶fgren was born on May 1, 1944, in Stockholm. She is a Swedish pop singer who also gained fame in German-speaking countries in the 1960s. She had her breakthrough in 1961 with the song âRegniga Natt, â which became the hit of the year in Sweden in 1962 and was awarded a gold record. In Germany, she released her first German-language single in 1962, but it wasnât until later that hits such as âImmer am Sonntag, â âZum Weinen kein Talent, â âJedes Herz braucht eine Heimat, â âRosen aus Papier,â and âEine HÃ¼tte in den BÃ¤umenâ followed . Her first album, Anna-Lena, was released in 1969. It was followed by Festliche Weihnacht (1970) and Dein Herz, das muss aus Gold sein (1998). Anna-Lena LÃ¶fgren participated twice in the Swedish preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest: in 1963 with âSÃ¤g varfÃ¶râ and in 1968 with âJag vill tro.â In the 1970s, she began a second career as a disc jockey at Radio Sweden. Until her death, she remained a well-known singer who frequently appeared on television and at galas. Anna-Lena LÃ¶fgren died on May 21, 2010.
