Biography
Ankhara, a Spanish heavy metal band formed in Madrid in 1995, initially consisted of Alberto MarÃn and Cecilio Sánchez on guitars, Sergio MartÃnez on bass, Jesús Alcalde on drums, and Pacho Brea as the vocalist. The group began performing in local venues and released demo tapes before signing with Locomotive Music in early 1999. Their album, Dueño Del Tiempo, was produced by Goyo Esteban and released that same year. Ankhara gained significant exposure through festivals like Rock Machina 2000 and collaborations such as their contribution to the Iron Maiden tribute album Transilvania 666. In 2003, following lineup changes, they released Sombras Del Pasado, which included a cover of Toto's "Hold The Line" titled "Mantente Firme". Ankhara disbanded in June 2004, but reunited in 2013.
