Biography

Anat Cohen is a jazz clarinettist and saxophonist from Israel who studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and is based in New York. She has won great acclaim and several music prizes with three Grammy Award nominations: Best World Music Album for 'Rosa Dos Ventos' (2017); Best Latin Jazz Album for 'Outra Coisa - The Music of Moacir Santos' (2017); and Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album for 'Triple Helix' (2019). Her debut recording, 'Place & Time', came out in 2005 and she followed with 'Poetica' (2007), 'Notes from the Village' (2008), 'Clarinetwork: Live at the Village Vanguard' (2010), 'Ciaroscuro' (2012) and 'Luminosa' (2015). She has collaborated with the Anzic Orchestra and Cyro Baptista and recorded as part of the 3 Cohens Sextet with her brothers, saxophonist Yuval and trumpet player Avishai, and with the Anat Cohen Tentet. 'Live in Healdsburg' with pianist Fred Hersch came out in 2018. Her 2020 schedule was to include appearances at venues in New York, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago and Los Angeles.
