Biography

A drummer from an early age, Antonio Sanchéz (Mexico, 1971) studied at Boston's Berklee College of Music before moving to New York, where he embarked on a career that has seen him accompany a number of jazz greats (Chick Corea, Charlie Haden, Toots Thielemans, Joshua Redman, Christian McBride). A member of the Pat Metheny Group, he released his debut album Migration in 2007, promptly followed by Element (2008), and teaches his art at universities and in masterclasses. Following Live in New York at Jazz Standard (2010) and New Life (2013), Three Times Three (2014) features three trios including Brad Mehldau and Matt Brewer, John Scofield and Christian McBride, Joe Lovano and John Patitucci.
