Biography
Alkonost is a Russian epic folk metal band formed in Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan, Russia, in 1995 by Andrey Losev. Their initial releases included the demos Shadows of Timeless (1997) and Shadows of Glory (1997), followed by the debut full-length album Songs of the Eternal Oak (2000). In 2007, they performed outside Russia for the first time, touring Ukraine, Belarus, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. They released several notable albums, including Between the Worlds (2004), Put' Neprojdennyj (2006), and On the Wings of the Call (2010). In 2013, they released Tales of Wanderings, which was followed by extensive touring. Alkonost later released albums such as Pesni Beloy Lilii (2016), Oktagramma (2018), Vedomye Vetrom (2021), and Dar Salamandry (2024). Their music is predominantly sung in Russian, with some albums available with English titles.
