Alisha Ann Itkin, known professionally as Alisha, was born on April 16, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York City. She began her musical journey at age eight with vocal lessons and quickly entered the music business through studio recording sessions arranged by her parents. At 14, she joined the rock/dance group The Babysitters and recorded a demo that led to her first single "All Night Passion" in February 1984, which peaked at number 4 on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart. Mark S. Berry produced Alisha's self-titled debut album released in 1985, featuring club hits like "Too Turned On" and "Baby Talk", which reached Number 1 on the Hot Dance charts in December 1985. In 1987, she signed with RCA Records and released Nightwalkin', including singles "Into My Secret" and "Let Your Heart Make Up Your Mind". Alisha's third album, Bounce Back (1990), produced by Michael Jay, featured the title track reaching number 10 on the Hot Dance charts and number 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 1990. After a hiatus, she released singles like "Wherever The Rhythm Takes Me" (1996) and "You Wanna Be A Star (Superstar)" (1999), produced by Jellybean Benitez and Soul Solution.
