Alf Cranner, born October 25, 1936, in Oslo, Norway, was a Norwegian folk singer. He began playing guitar at age 13 and studied painting at Statens Kunst- og HÃ¥ndverksskole. Cranner's career started with the release of Fiine antiquiteter in 1964, featuring 18 Norwegian folk songs. In 1967, he released Rosemalt Sound, combining folk music with jazz. Throughout his career, Cranner collaborated with notable figures such as Alf Prøysen and Odd Børretzen. He won the Spellemannprisen in 1974 for Trykt i Ã¥r and in 1977 for Vindkast.
