Alastair Moock, born in 1973 in New York City, is an American folk music performer. His interest began at a young age when his father took him to see Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie perform. After graduating from Williams College in 1995, Moock moved to Boston and started performing at local venues. He released his debut album, Walking Sounds, in 1997. In 2010, Moock shifted his focus to family music, releasing albums that earned a GRAMMY nomination and three Parentsâ Choice Awards Gold Medals. His album Singing Our Way Through: Songs for the World's Bravest Kids, released in 2013, was inspired by his daughter's leukemia diagnosis and garnered critical acclaim. Moock returned to adult music with his eponymous release in 2017, which reached number 10 on the national Folk DJ chart.
