Alain Morisod, born on June 23, 1949, in Switzerland, is a Swiss pianist. He began playing the piano at age nine after his father's death, encouraged by his mother. Morisod started his music career as a piano accompanist and achieved a breakthrough with "Concerto pour un été" in 1971, which sold over two million copies. In 1978, he formed Sweet People and participated in the Eurovision Song Contest with "Hey, le musicien". The group's "Et les oiseaux chantaient (And the Birds Were Singing)" reached Number four in the UK charts in 1980. Alain Morisod has released numerous albums, including 20 Mélodies pour Rêver. He has lived in Canada since around 1980 and achieved significant success with Sweet People, with several albums certified platinum and gold by the CRIA.
