Biography

Željko Samardžić is a Bosnian and Serbian singer born on October 3, 1955, in Mostar. He established a musical background during high school as an impersonator of Kemal Monteno. In the 1970s, Samardžić recorded the song “Moja Marija je drugačija”, which attained success following the Prvi aplauz festival. His early discography included the albums Jednom kad nam dođu sijede (1987) and Želja (1990). In 1992, Samardžić relocated to Belgrade after being wounded during the Bosnian War. His recording career featured the albums Oko tvoje neverno (1993) and Sudbina (1995), the latter produced with Marina Tucaković and Aleksandar Radulović. At the 1995 Pjesma Mediterana festival, Samardžić performed the song “Sipajte mi još jedan viski”. His discography included the albums Sentimentalan čovek (2001), Lice ljubavi (2006), and Mila (2017). In 2026, he did a public performance of “9000 milja” in Belgrade.
