Biography
Meg Christian, born in 1946 in Lynchburg, Virginia, is an American folk singer known for her association with the women's music movement. She learned stringed instruments as a child and was influenced by artists like Joan Baez and Harry Belafonte. After graduating from the University of North Carolina, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she performed covers of easy listening material. Christian co-founded Olivia Records in 1973, releasing her debut album I Know You Know in 1974. Subsequent albums include Face the Music (1977) and Turning it Over (1981). She ceased live performances in 1984 to study Siddha Yoga but resumed performing for Olivia Records events in 2002 with appearances on Caribbean cruises.
