Biography

Adolescentes Orquesta, also known as Adolescent's Orquesta or simply Adolescentes , was a Venezuelan salsa band founded in 1993 by Porfi Baloa in Distrito Capital, Caracas. The group's debut album, Reclamando Nuestro Espacio, released in 1994, marked their breakthrough with hits like "Hoy Aprendí" and "Anhelo", which topped the charts in Venezuela and Latin America. Their second album, Persona Ideal (1996), featured notable songs such as "Arrepentida" and "Clase Social", further solidifying their success. The band's unique sound, characterized by three trombones and a saxophone baritone, became iconic in Venezuelan salsa. Adolescentes Orquesta continued to release successful albums, including La Misma Pluma (1998), which featured the hit "Llámame" and was accompanied by a popular TV miniseries. They also released Millenium Hits (1999) and performed extensively worldwide, visiting countries like Colombia, Chile, and Japan. The band's achievements include multiple awards such as the Premio Mara de Oro and Premio Meridiano de Oro, as well as nominations for Premios Lo Nuestro. Despite several lineup changes, Adolescentes Orquesta continued performing and recording well into the 21st century, including albums such as Búscame (2005), Sellos De Mi ADN (2009), and Indestructible (2015).
