Biography

Aca Seca Trío is an Argentine band formed in 1999 consisting of Andrés Beeuwsaert, Mariano Cantero, and Juan Quintero. The trio met while studying composition and choral and orchestral conducting at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Their debut album, Acá Seca Trío, was released in 2003 to critical acclaim, featuring songs by Juan Quintero and other notable composers. In 2005, they received the Premio Konex for their contributions to Argentine music and were nominated for the Premio Clarín Espectáculos. Their subsequent albums include Avenido (2006), Ventanas (2011), and Hermanos (2014). Aca Seca Trío has performed internationally, including tours across Latin America, Europe, Asia, and North America. In 2015, they were awarded the Konex de Platino as the best folklore ensemble of the decade in Argentina. Their fifth album, Trino, released in 2018, won the Premio Gardel for Best Alternative Folklore Album.
