Biography

Abel Pintos, born on May 11, 1984, in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, began his musical journey at age 13 with his debut album Para cantar he nacido (1997), produced by León Gieco and featuring covers of Argentine folk classics. He followed with Todos los días un poco (1999), showcasing his interpretations of traditional songs, and Cosas del corazón (2001), which included collaborations with Domingo Cura and Carlos Buono. Transitioning to original compositions, Abel Pintos released Sentidos (2004) and Reflejo real (2005), marking his evolution as a songwriter. His album La llave (2007) solidified his place in the Argentine music scene, blending folk with contemporary sounds. The live album Sueño dorado (2012) celebrated his 15-year career and became his best-selling record. In 2013, he released the self-titled album Abel, featuring the hit single "Aquí te espero," which achieved triple platinum status. Subsequent albums like Único (2015) and 11 (2016) continued his success, with notable tracks such as "Pájaro cantor." His 2021 album El amor en mi vida showcased collaborations with artists like Yotuel, Camila, Beatriz Luengo, and Lali, earning the Gardel Award for Best Pop Album. In 2023, Abel Pintos released Alta en el cielo, a project featuring Argentine national songs recorded with the Academic Orchestra of the Teatro Colón. 2025 saw the release of Gracias a la Vida, which featured the single "Me dediqué a perderte" with Ha*Ash.
