Biography

A Hill to Die Upon is an American blackened death metal band from Monmouth-Galesburg, Illinois. Formed in 2004 by brothers Adam and R. Michael Cook, the group initially started as a hardcore project before transitioning to extreme metal. Their first album, Infinite Titanic Immortal, was released on July 21, 2009 under Bombworks Records. The band's second studio album, Omens, followed in May 23, 2011. In February 12, 2013, they released the single "Manden Med Leen". Their third album, Holy Despair, came out on April 8, 2014 and was funded through an Indiegogo campaign. The band signed with Luxor Records in August 11, 2017 and released their fourth album, Via Artis Via Mortis. In January 6, 2022, they announced a new label deal with Mythic Panda Productions and the upcoming release of The Black Nativity, which was released later that year.
