The R&B quartet 7 Mile formed in the 1990s in Detroit, Michigan. Glynis âLilâ Gâ Martin, Jr., Luther âSqueakâ Jackson, Deion âDâ Lucas, and Seantezz âTezzâ Robinson caught their big break signing with Mariah Careyâs short-lived record label, Crave. Their debut single, 1997âs âJust a Memoryâ peaked at number 45 on the R&B chart. 1998 saw the release of their self-titled debut album which contained their biggest single, âDo Your Thingâ, a number 12 R&B hit that reached number 50 on the pop chart. Crave shut down before the end of 1998, and 7 Mile quietly disbanded. Martin passed away in 2018.
