The brotherly Canadian folk-rock duo 2Frères was formed by Erik and Sonny Caouette in Chapais, Quebec. After initially assembling in 2008, they spent the next seven years honing their sound at live shows before recording their debut album, Nous Autres, in April 2015. Certified platinum, the LP was a hit and propelled the band to the ranks of the most-played artists (in any genre) on Francophone radio in Canada in 2016. They picked up the Group of the Year gong at the Felix Awards in 2016 while the album also won Pop Album of the Year. In 2017, they released their second full-length, the gold-certified La Route, which spawned a hit single in Quebec via âComme avantâ . They put out the chart-topping pop follow-up, à tous les vents, in February 2020 but were unable to tour the album due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. Accompanied by a book (2Frères, à tous les vents : Lâhistoire dâun improbable parcours, by François Couture) and a documentary for the TVA channel in September 2020 (2Frères : Lâimprobable parcours), the album carved the way for three Felix nominations at the 42nd Félix Awards in 2020: Group of the Year, Adult Contemporary Album of the Year, and Song of the Year for the album's title track. In 2022, 2Frères returned with a fourth album, Sous le Même Toit, which was promoted by the Top 40 Canadian single "On a mis dâla lumière".
