Biography

Formed in 2012 by Mathieu Lafontaine as a side project to his career under the name Matt Track, Canadian band Bleu Jeans Bleu has established itself over time with some success. Officiating all dressed in denim underalter ego names, Claude Cobra (Mathieu Lafontaine), Wayne Wrangler (François Lessard), Lee Lou (Mathieu Colette) and Jean Levis (Pierre-David Girard) began by delivering humorous country music in their first live appearances, before developing other styles such as funk, pop and rock. After two albums, Haute Couture (2013) and Franchement Wow (2016), Blue Jeans Bleu came to prominence with the album Perfecto, which won them the Félix award for Group of the Year at the ADISQ gala, while the song "Coton ouaté" became a national hit, winning a gold record and performed with Céline Dion on her Courage World Tour in Montreal. In 2020, the song is nominated for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize. Back after the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2022 Bleu Jeans Bleu unveils the album Top Minou, ranked #87 in Canada and featuring the single "Molle twist vanille-vanille". In 2025, the tracks "Mini-Putt" and "Jeans t-shirt" heralded the release of the album Record n°V, released early the following year.
