Biography

The Canadian pop music group Bleu Jeans Bleu was created by Quebec singer-songwriter Mathieu Lafontaine, who also releases music under the name Matt Track. Even though it was originally conceived as a satirical country music act, the four-piece has since branched out into other genres such as pop and rock. Led by Mathieu Lafontaine's alter ego "Blue Cobra," the denim-wearing group's lineup is completed by François "Wayne Wrangler" Lessard, Mathieu "Lee Lou" Colette, and Pierre-David "Jean Levis" Girard. After bursting onto the scene with the albums Haute Couture (2013) and Franchement Wow (2016), Bleu Jeans Bleu finally achieved nationwide recognition through their third full-length, Perfecto (2019). Driven by the gold-selling hit single "Coton Ouaté," Perfecto helped the band win Group of the Year at the Prix Félix Awards. The following year, Mathieu Lafontaine was invited to perform the gold-selling single on stage with singer Céline Dion during her Courage World Tour. They followed this success with 2022's Top Minou, which reached Number 87 on the Canadian charts.
