Zion Band was a short-lived group on the Bristol reggae scene. Active between 1980 and 1982, its members met at the Arts Opportunity Theatre, during the production of a play entitled Freedom City. It was on this occasion that the independent single "Freedom City" was recorded , and released on the label of the same name in 1982. Comprising seven musicians, a singer and two backing singers, including brothers Clive, Rob and Noel Smith, Zion Band also left an EP, reissued in 2026 by Bristol Archive Records. The band's tracks were also featured on The Bristol Reggae Explosion compilation series (2011-2012).
