Biography
Ooklah The Moc, a reggae roots and rock music band from Palolo, Oahu, Hawaii, formed in 1997. Initially playing roots reggae, the group underwent several lineup changes before solidifying as an eight-person ensemble in 2000. Named after Ookla the Mok, a character from the animated series Thundarr the Barbarian, the band's early releases included their debut album Ites Massive (2000). Subsequent albums such as Rearrange Your Positive (2004), Struggling Soldier (2005), and Vaults (2008) showcased their evolving sound. Their EP, Every Posse, was released in 2017. The band's influences range from Rastafari to reggae legends like Aswad and Roots Radics, as well as hip-hop groups such as Wu-Tang Clan.
