Jose Luis Corrales Jr., known professionally as Yppah, was born on March 31, 1981, in Houston, Texas and is a DJ specializing in electronic music and electro rock. He began his musical journey playing guitar and bass in various rock bands during college before transitioning to electronic music and DJing. Yppah's breakthrough came with the release of his debut album, You Are Beautiful At All Times, in 2006, under Ninja Tune. The single "Again With The Subtitles" preceded the album and was featured in the film Las Vegas 21. His music, influenced by shoegazing and psychédélique, includes extensive use of reverb and electronic effects. Subsequent albums include They Know What Ghost Know (2009) and Eighty One (2012), featuring collaborations with Anomie Belle on singles "Film Burn" and "D. Song".
