Your Brother's Keeper is a London-based jazz collective formed by drummer and producer Jake Long of the band Maisha. The core lineup features Jake Long (drums), Ali/Al MacSween (piano, keyboards, synthesizers), Axel Kaner-Lidstrom (trumpet), Twm Dylan (double bass), Tim Doyle (percussion), and Chelsea Carmichael (tenor saxophone). The group emerged from collaborations with legendary saxophonist Gary Bartz, which began in 2019 during the first edition of the We Out Here festival, before evolving into a permanent ensemble. Your Brotherâs Keeper made its recording debut in 2026 on the Brownswood Recordings label with the collaborative album Where Rivers Meet, featuring Gary Bartz. Preceded by the singles âCauldronâ and âGround Loopâ, the album blends spiritual jazz, modal improvisation, electronic music, jazz fusion, and contemporary London nu jazz, earning critical acclaim.
