Formed in the late 2010s, Ancient Infinity Orchestra is a British jazz collective founded and led by bassist Ozzy Moysey. Based in Leeds, the group brings together fifteen musicians from the contemporary jazz scene in the north of England. Inspired by the spiritual and modal jazz of the 1960s-1970s, notably Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane and Sun Ra, the collective develops music that is both meditative and expansive, blending free improvisation, modal harmonies and orchestral textures. Their first self-produced album, Solar Seasons, was released in January 2020, followed by River of Light (2023), produced by Matthew Halsall and released on Gondwana Records. The latter was hailed for its cosmic and introspective dimension. In 2025, the collective signed It's Always About Love, including a tribute to Don Cherry ("Chant for Don Cherry").
