Siege was an American hardcore punk band from Weymouth, Massachusetts formed in 1981 by Kurt Habelt on guitar, Hank McNamee on bass, Rob Williams on drums, and Kevin Mahoney as vocalist. Their first official show took place at a Battle of the Bands event in early 1984. The band recorded a six-song demo tape at Radiobeat Records in February 1984, which was later extensively bootlegged. In October 1984, they contributed three songs to Pushead's hardcore compilation Cleanse the Bacteria. The band briefly reunited in 1991 with Seth Putnam replacing Mahoney but disbanded again in August 1992. Despite their limited output and regional performances, Siege became highly influential. Their demo tracks were officially released on CD in 1994 as Drop Dead by Relapse Records.
