Biography

Young Galaxy, a Canadian indie pop/dream pop band formed in 2005 in Vancouver, consisted of husband and wife Stephen Ramsay and Catherine McCandless. The duo released their self-titled debut in 2007 on Arts & Crafts. The band toured extensively in Canada, the United States, and Europe, opening for notable acts such as Arcade Fire and Death Cab For Cutie. In 2013, they released their fourth album Ultramarine, which was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. Their fifth album, Falsework, followed in 2015. Young Galaxy announced an indefinite hiatus in September 2018 after releasing Down Time and the EP Snow Leopard.
