Biography

Heligoland, a five-piece band originating from Melbourne, Australia, was formed in 1999. The group initially gained traction with their debut EP, Heligoland, released in 2000. Their music career progressed with the release of their first full-length album, Shift These Thoughts, in 2003, followed by A Street Between Us in 2006. The band's sound, characterized by atmospheric textures and soaring female vocals, drew comparisons to acts like Cocteau Twins and Low. Heligoland continued to release notable albums, including All Your Ships Are White in 2010, and the EP Sainte Anne in 2013. Several members of Heligoland have also been involved in other musical projects, such as Steve Wheeler & Antti Mäkinen touring with Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) as The Robin Guthrie Trio.
