Yentl en de Boer, a Dutch cabaret and musical duo consisting of Yentl Schieman and Christine de Boer, became active in September 2012. The group gained early recognition through their performances and won the Fringe Silver Award for Club Silenzio during the Amsterdam Fringe Festival in 2012. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album De Plaat in 2014, which included the single "Ik heb een man gekend" that earned them an Annie M.G. Schmidt Award for lyrics, composition, and performance. Yentl en de Boer released several albums, including M'n snoep: Live in Het Concertgebouw (2016) and Morph (2018). They also received the Poelifinario Kleinkunst award for their show Modderkruipers.
