Maricarmen MarÃn Salinas, known professionally as Maricarmen MarÃn, was born on September 28, 1982, in Lima, Peru. She began her career at age 16 as a dancer and later became one of the lead vocalists for the cumbia group Agua Bella. In 2005, she formed her own band, Los Diablos de la Cumbia, releasing their debut album Me Enamoré de Ti y Qué. Maricarmen's career expanded beyond music into acting, with notable roles in television series such as Las VÃrgenes de la Cumbia and films like the romantic comedy trilogy La Peor de Mis Bodas. She released several albums, including ¡Cumbia Poder! (2008) and Navidad Maricarmen (2015), which featured traditional Christmas songs. Her singles "Obsesión," "Por Fin Soy Libre," and "¿Por Qué Te Fuiste?" (2018) showcased her versatility in cumbia and world music genres.
