Biography

Xiomara Alfaro, born on May 11, 1930, in La Habana, Cuba, was a Cuban singer of pop music. She began her career in the 1950s with musical revues and cabaret performances, notably at Tropicana. Throughout her career, she released over 28 albums. She collaborated with prominent figures such as Bebo Valdés and Ernesto Duarte Brito. Her rendition of "Siboney" by Ernesto Lecuona was particularly acclaimed. Alfaro also appeared in films like Mambo (1954) and Yambaó (1956), showcasing her versatility beyond music. She released the single "Angelitos Negros" in 1959. She passed away on June 24, 2018, in Cape Coral, Florida.
