Xanadu was a German pop and schlager group formed in 1989 in Germany, comprising members including David Brandes, Lyane Leigh, and Uwe Haselsteiner, all of whom later pursued solo projects; the groupâs lineup changed several times during its brief existence. The group first gained attention with the single "Einen Traum für diese Welt" in 1989, which reached number 2 in the German charts, followed by "Paloma Blue" the same year, which secured the same chart position and was included on their debut studio album Paloma Blue released in 1990. The album featured songs coâwritten by Tony Hendrik, and the single "Ein Tag, eine Nacht, eine Stunde" was issued in 1991, further solidifying the groupâs presence in the schlager scene. Subsequent releases included "Brennendes Herz" (1991), "Charline" (1992), and "Liebe lebt" (1992). After disbanding in 1992, former members continued to influence the genre, notably with David Brandes and Lyane Leigh founding the dance act EâRotic. In 2020, the original frontwoman Lyane Leigh reârecorded "Ein Tag, eine Nacht, eine Stunde" for a new single and released the EP Alle Macht den Träumen, commemorating the groupâs 30th anniversary.
