Wolfgang Buck, born in 1958 in Puschendorf, Germany, is a German singer-songwriter and pastor. After studying theology, he served as a Protestant pastor for 14 years before dedicating himself full-time to his musical career. His early work included performing on small stages and releasing CDs. Buck gained significant recognition with the albums Schaunerhie (1993) and Gemmeraweng (1996), which featured collaborations with Die Zöllner and notable musicians like Max Kienastl and Roli Müller. His performances as an opening act for Hubert von Goisern and Joan Baez further boosted his popularity. Subsequent albums include Sambesi (2001) and Visäwie (2022). Notable achievements include being awarded the Frankenwürfel (2006), Wolfram von Eschenbach Prize (2008), and the Bavarian Culture Prize (2021).
