Biography
The Williams Brothers were an American pop-rock duo formed by twin brothers Andrew and David Williams, nephews of entertainer Andy Williams. After beginning their recording career in the late 1980s, they released their debut album, Two Stories (1987), followed by the self-titled The Williams Brothers (1991). Their international breakthrough came in 1992 with "Can't Cry Hard Enough", an emotional ballad that became an adult contemporary radio staple and their signature song, later appearing on the soundtrack of the 1993 film Free Willy and being widely covered by other artists. The duo continued with the album Harmony Hotel (1993), which included further melodic pop and adult contemporary material before they stepped away from recording as a duo. Although their commercial success was brief, "Can't Cry Hard Enough" endured as a classic adult contemporary ballad, remaining popular through radio airplay, film and television placements, and numerous cover versions. In 2022, their music was reintroduced through the retrospective compilation Memories to Burn, accompanied by the previously unreleased single "Tears Only Run One Way". The release renewed interest in the duo's catalog and highlighted the lasting appeal of their harmony-driven pop sound, centered on the enduring success of "Can't Cry Hard Enough."
