Will Lee (born 8 September 1952, in Miami) is an American jazz fusion bassist. Following the influence of his parents, he began playing drums at age 12 after seeing the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show. He later switched to bass and studied the instrument at the University of Miami. After moving to New York City, Lee joined the jazz-rock group Dreams, appearing on the album Imagine My Surprise (1971). He established a career as a session musician, collaborating with artists including Michael Bolton, Mariah Carey, and the Brecker Brothers. In 1982, Lee became an original member of the World's Most Dangerous Band for Late Night with David Letterman, performing with the CBS Orchestra on the Late Show until 2015. His solo album OH! (1993) reached Number 1 on the "Jazz Beyond" chart. Lee received multiple NARAS MVP Awards and a Grammy Award for the album Some Skunk Funk (2006). In 2014, he was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame.
