Wilfred Lau Ho-Lung (known professionally as Wilfred Lau) is a Hong Kong singer and actor, born on 13 August, 1976 in Hong Kong. Despite dreaming of a career in music from a young age, he was discouraged by his teachers and put his aspirations aside. However, at age 21, Lau found the courage to enter the 1997 New Talent Singing Awards International Finals, where he won first place as well as the Best Performance and Performance Art Potential awards. Hosting television shows on TVB for four years, Lau found it difficult to break into the industry, however with the help of Hong Kong singer Eddie Ng, who gave him the song "è人," he recorded his debut album, Start Up, which was released in 2004. The album featured the popular single "æ覺失調", earning him the Best Newcomer award at the Metro Radio Hits for the Princes and Princesses awards in 2004. Lau continued to build his music career with his second album, Singing in the Ring, and Cantopop album Past and Present in 2005, which featured popular songs "æ覺失調" and "äºç天使." In 2006, he released All the Best followed by 2008 EP le nouvel, which featured remixes of popular singles like "ç«è±ä¸ç人" and "ç¥åï¼æ±æ±è®æç¡." Focusing on his acting career over the next few years, Lau released only a handful of singles during this time, collaborating on tracks such as "æé£ç å¿" with J.Arie in 2019 and "ç éä¹å¾" with Terence Siufay in 2020. In 2023, Lau released solo single âæ²äººåç梳åâ on February 22 which received over 20,000 views within the first ten days of its release.
