Biography

Born Zhang Jingxuan in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China on February 1, 1981, the award-winning Cantopop and Mandopop singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, and actor is better known as Hins Cheung. His musical career began with the release of his debut EP, Hins’ First, in 2001. The release was successful enough for him to attract the attention of Universal Music. After signing with the label, Hins Cheung moved to Hong Kong to concentrate on his career. His first full length album, My Way, was released in 2002. The title track was issued as a single and reached Number 1 on the Chinese Music Chart. Throughout his career, released album sung in Mandarin – including Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter (2006) – and Cantonese (Ardently Love, which was a huge success). In 2008, his album Urban Emotions featured “Hate that I Love You”, a duet with Rhianna. The original version of song featured Ne-Yo, but his vocals were replaced by Hins Cheung, who sang lyrics in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Hins Cheung has released over 17 albums and EPs, winning many awards, accolades, and honors, and landed on Tatler Asia’s shortlist for Asia’s Most Influential in 2021. His popularity as a recording artist led to him acting in a more than a dozen films and stage productions beginning with the 2004 motion picture In-Laws, Out-Laws. In 2021, Hins Cheung released the surprise album, The Brightest Darkness which featured the single “The Way We Were”. Both the album and the single were a huge success, winning awards at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards.
