Biography

Wide Open Cage, a French electronic music group formed in 1993, initially comprised Silvère on samplers, François handling equalization, and Franck responsible for sound imagery. They released their first self-produced cassette Outbreak (1993). In 1998, they signed with Polygram and released the EP Untitled (1998). Their transition from hardcore to techno was marked by a single in 1999. They released their debut studio album Coax (2000), which catered to the rave and techno audience. The song "After" was featured as background music for the films La Reine des damnés (2002) and Sweet 16. Their second album Woebegone Lullabies (2003) followed, along with a complete soundtrack for a Johnnie Walker advertisement.
