Whirlpool Productions, a German house group formed in Cologne in 1991, comprises musicians and producers Eric D. Clark, Justus Köhncke, and Hans Nieswandt. The trio, all former journalists for the music magazine Spex, combined their theoretical interests with hands-on production, releasing the early single "Fly High" in 1992. Their first studio album, Brian De Palma, appeared in 1995, followed by Dense Music in 1996, establishing a distinctive experimental house sound that influenced contemporaries such as Sensorama and Egoexpress. The 1997 hit single "From Disco to Disco" reached Number 1 in Italy and entered the charts in Belgium and the Netherlands, propelling the group onto Italian television hit-parade shows. In 2001 they issued the album Lifechange, while the 2006 EP From Disco to Disco, Pt. 2 and the 2007 From Disco to Disco remix collection extended their catalogue. Whirlpool Productions toured extensively as DJs across Europe, and in 2022 received the Holger Czukay Preis für Popmusik from the city of Cologne.
