Weather Girls is a Taiwanese female idol group that originated from the weather forecast program *Weather Girls*, which began airing in 2010 on the Taiwanese IP TV station Yi TV. Formed from members selected among the showâs cast, the group began its activities in April 2012. On October 17 of the same year, they made their Japanese debut with the single âLove Weather Forecastâ , produced by Jeff Miyahara. As a female idol group from Taiwan, they actively pursued their career in Japan, raising their profile through numerous live performances and event appearances. In 2013, âLove is a Thrill Alertâ and âLove ⥠Sunshineâ , and in July, they released their first album *WEATHER GIRLS* . That same year, they engaged in a wide range of activities, including throwing the ceremonial first pitch at Tokyo Dome, performing at the âTOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL,â and operating a limited-time café. In October 2013, their entertainment activities in Taiwan also gained momentum, and they signed contracts with local companies. They also performed at the halftime show of an NBA preseason game and held a press conference in China. Furthermore, their fourth single âHEY BOY ~Wei Shen Mo?~â , released on November 20, 2013, was selected as the ending theme for the TV program âAttack Shimasu kedo Nani?â Based in both Japan and Taiwan, they gained popularity with their unique concept that fused idol activities with weather forecasting programs.
