Biography
Formed in Seoul, South Korea in 2019, Wave to Earth is an indie rock and pop band founded by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Kim Daniel. Initially working alongside drummer Shin âDong Qâ Donggyu, the original duo released their debut single, âWave,â in 2019. The group added bassist Soonjong âJohnâ Cha along the way and released two EPs in 2020: Wave 0.10 and Summer Flows 0.02. Signing with the Wavy label, the trio began recording their debut album along with session musicians including keyboardist Jo Jung-geun and saxophonist Jeon-min. In April 2023, Wave to Earth released their debut album, 0.1 Flaws and All, to critical acclaim. The album featured more pop oriented material on the first half of the album and a jazzier sound on the second half. The album included the tracks âNouvelle Vague,â âCalla,â âDried Flower,â and âBad.â The group played several rock festivals in South Korea and Indonesia before embarking on a North American tour in September 2022.
